Museum of the Future (Dubai) – 7 excellent things you need to know

The Museum of the Future is a venue for displaying cutting-edge and future philosophies, services, and goods. The Museum of the Future, situated in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, has three main components: a green hill, a building, and avoid. The Dubai Future Foundation created it. It was intended to open in 2021, but as of December of that year, it had not done so fully. The government of the United Arab Emirates later opened the museum on February 22, 2022. This date was chosen because it is a palindrome.

Promoting technical advancement and innovation, particularly in the areas of artificial intelligence and robotics is the objective of this museum.

Museum of the Future: architecture and design

Designed as an asymmetric torus clad in steel and glass, the Museum of the Future in Dubai has been recognized by National Geographic as one of the 14 most beautiful museums in the world. It’s a credit to architect Shaun Killa, who wanted the structure to represent Dubai’s vision of the future.

The Arabic calligraphy, which serves as glass windows as well, is used in an artistic manner on the museum’s beautiful appearance, which makes it stand out. They feature lines of motivational poetry by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and were created by Emirati artist Mattar bin Lahej. One of the three statements that surround the front is, “The future belongs to those who can imagine it, design it, and execute it. It isn’t something you await, but rather create.”

History

Following its presentation at the Government Summit in February 2015, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, ruler of Dubai and Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, announced intentions to create the Museum of the Future on March 4, 2015.

Mohammed bin Rashid opened the Museum of the Future exhibition on February 7 as part of the 2016 World Government Summit.

The Museum of the Future was officially established on February 22, 2022, at 7 p.m. Dubai time. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, along with Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, and Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, were granted permission to hold the opening ceremony and the opening of the Museum.

The Museum of the Future: what to expect

The groundbreaking construction, which will serve as a portal to the world in 50 years, will show how next-generation solutions, like augmented reality and artificial intelligence, can improve our quality of life while also strengthening the global economy.

Visitors will be able to interact with this revolutionary technology. The museum’s floors are each conceptualized as a large, interactive set that has been brought to life by talented storytellers, technologists, and forward-thinking artists. Future space travel and living, ecological issues, and climate change, as well as health, well-being, and spirituality are among the subjects under discussion. In addition to groundbreaking breakthroughs, there will be exclusive workshops and presentations from the top thinkers in the world.

Children three to ten years old can engage in a fully accessible experience at the Future Heroes environment, a special place created to inspire young people to realize their potential. Visitors should also stop at the level two viewing platform, which is located inside the museum’s “void” and offers panoramic views of Dubai’s bustling metropolitan core in addition to an up-close look at the facade’s smooth interior.

Children under the age of three, people of determination, and senior Emirati nationals are all granted free admission; tickets, which can be purchased on the official website, cost AED 145.

Arabic calligraphy illuminates the gallery

The urban icon is covered in 14 kilometers of Arabic calligraphy that Sheikh Mohammed’s most famous quotes are written, including: “We may not live for hundreds of years, but the products of our creativity can leave a legacy long after we are gone,”  and “The future belongs to those who can imagine it, design it, and execute it.” The calligraphy was created by Emirati artist Mattar bin Lahej. The future moves quickly… Today, we may plan and construct the future. The museum’s windows are also written in cursive. They provide light to the column-free interior by day and will be dramatically lighted at night by LED lights.

Concept

In addition to housing innovations and serving as a hub that unites academics, designers, inventors, and financiers under one roof, the Museum of the Future asserts that it intends to generate solutions to the problems that future cities will confront.

The museum will feature innovation labs for a variety of industries, including health, education, smart cities, energy, and transportation. In addition, it will assist and evaluate fresh inventions in collaboration with academic institutions.

How far into the future can we see?

The official opening was held on February 22, 2022. The Arabian Philharmonic Orchestra sang the UAE national song as the ceremony’s lights were visible from all of Dubai, and the entire event was a magnificent light show.

The Dubai Media Office posted a video on social media prior to the launch that showed the upper section of the Museum opening up and greeting an item that appeared to be a spaceship. The video gained a lot of discussions after it swiftly went viral.

The museum’s interior is divided into seven stories, each of which houses a unique exhibition area. The floors are divided into areas that are dedicated to ongoing research development and areas that concentrate on current technological innovation.
