The Dubai Fitness Challenge begins on Saturday with the goal of getting the city moving over the next month.

On November 27, the city’s people are challenged to commit to 30 days of daily exercise for 30 minutes as part of the sixth annual event, which is supported by Sheikh Hamdan, Crown Prince of Dubai.

To keep participants inspired, there is a jam-packed calendar of events and activities happening across the city. Here is a look at some of the available options.

Major events

On Sunday, November 6, Dubai Ride, one of the marquee events of the Dubai Fitness Challenge, returns and offers cyclists the chance to enjoy the city’s busiest routes without any traffic. Participants have the option of a 4-kilometer family fun ride on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard that takes in the sights of Downtown or a 12-kilometer general route that circles Sheikh Zayed Road. The race is open to the public, however, registration at dubairide.com is required.

Dubai Run will return on November 20, 2022. Families can take a 5-kilometer path, while athletes can take a 10 km route. Both routes begin at 6.30 a.m. in front of the Museum of the Future. The 10km route runs through Business Bay and Emaar Square before ending on Al Mustaqbal Street, while the 5km route passes via the Dubai Mall, Dubai Opera, and Burj Khalifa. Participation in the “world’s largest fun run,” as it is known, is completely free.

Fitness Villages

Two Fitness Villages will be available at DFC this year. Throughout the 30 days, sports and fitness sessions will be held in the designated outdoor places, which will be open to participants of all ages and fitness levels

There are 15 different fitness zones at the DP World Fitness Village at Kite Beach, which is open on weekends from 7 am to 11 pm and on weekdays from 3 pm to 11 pm. There will be hundreds of classes offered over the course of the 30 days, including ones for rowing, football, yoga, aerobics, and more.

On the other hand, the RTA Last Exit Al Khawaneej Fitness Village will include five distinct fitness areas and be open from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. from Sunday through Thursday and until midnight on Friday and Saturday. Throughout the 30-day period, it will provide free ladies-only, group, and kid-friendly lessons. Visitors can then treat themselves to a bite from one of the last exit’s numerous food trucks.

You will be able to get moving with the assistance of qualified exercise instructors at DFC’s free Fitness Hubs, which are spread throughout a number of the city’s residential and commercial neighborhoods. There will be a total of 12 hubs this year, each of which will provide daily free 30-minute sessions. Find hubs at Dubai Silicon Oasis, Hatta Wadi Hub, Dubai Design District, Zabeel Ladies Club, Hatta Wadi Hub, and DIFC during the first week of the challenge. Additional hubs are slated to open in the upcoming weeks.
