Dubai Run – another record hit!
With more than 193,000 participants joined the 4th edition of Dubai Run on Sheikh Zayed Road on Sunday morning, Dubai has hosted the largest free fun run in the world.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, the Crown Prince of Dubai and the challenge’s public participant, led the run. Sheikh Hamdan waved at some of them and shook hands with others, much to their delight.
At 6:30 a.m., Sheikh Hamdan began the Dubai Run 4th edition 2022, leading a sea of green comprised of runners, joggers, and walkers.
Cheering, clapping, and flashing mobile phones, men, women, and kids of all ages participated in the largest free fun race capturing the attitude of Dubai as an active metropolis. Families flocked to the event in large numbers, and many were spotted pushing strollers for smaller children and carrying their young children on their shoulders.
Those who ran the 5 km route started near the Museum of the Future on Sheikh Zayed Road, went by the Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Opera, and finished near Dubai Mall. The more experienced runners enjoyed the 10km route along Sheikh Zayed Road to the Dubai Canal, then they turned around and headed back in the direction of the Trade Center before finishing on Al Mustaqbal Street near DIFC.

“As Dubai Fitness Challenge approaches its final week, it is inspiring to see the commitment of so many of our citizens, residents and visitors to their health and wellbeing. Running alongside over 193,000 people who completed the Dubai Run today, I was moved by the strength of our community and seeing what we can achieve when we work together.”
Dubai Run is one of the main events of the Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed-led Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC), which takes place once a year and is presented by Mai Dubai. DFC seeks yearly to make Dubai the most active city in the world. Due to its leadership, Dubai is the first city in the world to provide a month’s worth of all-inclusive, free exercise events for its inhabitants, residents, and visitors, making it an even happier, healthier, and fitter city. The Run attracted more than 146,000 runners last year.

Sheikh Hamdan posted on Instagram within hours after leading the sea of runners on Sheikh Zayed Road: “Thank you all. Let’s make it more than 200,000 next year, Dubai.”
The Dubai Run is the completion of the 30-day Dubai Fitness Challenge, which invites UAE citizens, residents, and guests to work out for 30 days straight for 30 minutes each day.
